Stronger together: Krones has joined the Bavarian research network for industrial water reuse.
Krones has been an official member of the “BayWater“ research project since June. This is a research and industry network based in Bavaria and beyond that aims to pave the way for sustainable, operationally integrated water management. Across all industries, the aim is to recycle water flows as much as possible, minimise energy and chemical consumption, and strengthen the competitiveness of the companies involved.
As water is one of the most important resources in the beverage and food industry, we see ourselves as having a special responsibility in this area. Accordingly, we have anchored the topic of “water protection” twice in our Group-wide sustainability strategy. In our ESG targets, we have committed ourselves to the following by 2030:
- Reducing the water footprint of sold products by 20 per cent and
- water consumption in our own operations by 10 per cent.
Joining “BayWater” underscores our commitment to sustainable resource use, transparent communication and active exchange with research institutes and industry partners.
Together with other stakeholders, we want to contribute to sharing knowledge, promoting innovation and developing solutions to the challenges of operational water management.
